Fixed Price Conditions

When preparing a price quote, the information provided is used as a basis – in particular the list of items to be moved, photos, videos, and a description of the conditions at the loading and unloading locations. The more accurate this information is, the more accurate the calculation can be.

If the actual scope of the job corresponds to the information provided, the agreed price is final and will not be increased in any way.

In exceptional cases, however, it may turn out that the actual scope or complexity of the move differs significantly from the original specification. This may include situations where:

• significantly more items are being moved than were listed or apparent from the supplied photos or videos,
• the volume of items to be moved is substantially greater than indicated in the enquiry,
• the conditions on site differ from those stated (for example a non-functioning or too small elevator, more floors, longer carrying distances, restricted access, no possibility to park at the building, etc.),
• during the move, the customer requests an extension of the scope of the job or additional work that was not part of the original order.

If, before or during the move, the staff discover that the actual scope of the job does not correspond to the information on which the fixed price was based, the customer will be informed of this without undue delay. Where possible, the customer will be informed in advance of the expected price increase. If the scope of the additional work cannot be precisely determined in advance, it will be charged according to the actual extra work carried out, based on the current price list.

Additional work may be charged in particular according to the extra volume of items to be moved, the time required to move them, or other necessary costs incurred as a result of a change in the scope of the job or different conditions on site.

The aim is not to increase the price afterwards. On the contrary – a fixed price is the standard that is adhered to without exception for the vast majority of jobs. To be able to guarantee this, the most accurate possible information is needed from customers about the scope of the move and the conditions at both addresses.

How is the price of moving calculated? What affects the cost of moving?

The price of moving is determined by the volume, complexity, and distance in kilometres

At EASY MOVING, the price of moving services is calculated by the hour. The time it takes to complete the move depends on how much is being moved and how demanding the move is. This includes which floor the move is from and to, whether there is an elevator and how big it is, how spacious the moving routes are, how steep the staircase is, how large the furniture is and how its size compares to the width of the doors, how easy disassembly and assembly are, how many items need to be packed, and whether they need to be wrapped in bubble wrap, etc. Travel outside Prague is charged according to the kilometres driven.

How to estimate the cost of moving?

It is fairly complicated, as it is influenced by a number of factors. While calculating the cost per kilometre is more or less straightforward, estimating the cost of the moving work itself is considerably more difficult.

On average, it can be assumed that every 5 cubic metres (which is roughly half of an average-sized, averagely furnished room) takes about 1 to 1.5 hours to pack, load, and unload. If disassembly and assembly are required, add another half an hour to an hour. For floors without an elevator, add roughly 10 minutes for each floor, and for heavier items add at least 5 minutes per item for each floor.

How long moving takes and how many people are needed

As a guideline, it is necessary to count on the following figures:

• ½–1 room is 10 m3 for 1 to 2 people for 2–3 hours, a smaller vehicle is needed

• 1–1½ rooms is 20 m3 for 2 people for 3–4 hours, a smaller vehicle is needed

• 1½–2 rooms is 25 m3 for 2 people for 3–5 hours, a medium vehicle is needed

• 2–2½ rooms is 30 m3 for 2 people for 4–5 hours, a larger vehicle is needed

• 3 rooms is 35 m3 for 2 to 3 people for 5–6 hours, a larger vehicle is needed

• 3½–4 rooms is 40 m3 for 3 people for 5–7 hours, a larger vehicle is needed

• 4½–5 rooms is 50 m3 for 4 people for 8–9 hours, the largest vehicle or 2 vehicles are needed
• 5–5½ rooms is 60 m3 for 4–5 people for 8–10 hours, the largest vehicle or 2 vehicles are needed
• 5½–6 rooms is 65 m3 for 5 people for 9–10 hours, the largest vehicle or 2 vehicles are needed
• 6–7 rooms is 70 m3 for 5–6 people for 9–10 hours, the largest vehicle or 2 vehicles are needed
• 7–8 rooms is 80 m3 for 6 people for 9–11 hours, the largest vehicle or 2 vehicles are needed
